Privacy Policy

Effective 17 August 2026. This describes exactly what RUNOVA collects and what it does not. The short version: your camera never leaves your phone, and almost nothing else does either.

Your camera stays on your phone

RUNOVA reads your movement using the camera. Every frame is processed on your device, by software running inside the app, and is then discarded.

• No video, photo or camera frame is uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
• No recording is made.
• The movement detection works with the phone offline, because nothing about it needs a server.

What the app derives from the camera — that you are running, jumping, crouching or stepping sideways — is used to play the game and is not sent anywhere either.

What stays on your device only

These are kept in the app on your phone and are not sent to us:

• Your height, weight, goal weight, date of birth and sex.
• Your goals and the answers you gave while setting up.
• Your scores, best score, run history and streak.
• The name you asked to be called.

Deleting the app deletes all of it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.

What we receive, and only if you sign in

Creating an account is how a subscription follows you to a new phone. If you sign in with Apple, Google or an email address, we store:

• Your email address and display name, as your sign-in provider gives them to us.
• Which provider you used.
• Whether you agreed to receive emails from us, and when you agreed.

That is the whole record. Your health answers are deliberately not in it: they are worth nothing for sending an email, and keeping them on a server would turn a mailing list into something that needs a breach plan.

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we receive Apple's private relay address and never see your real one.

Purchases

Apple processes the payment. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple account details.

We use RevenueCat to tell whether your subscription is active. It receives the purchase record from Apple and an anonymous identifier for your install — not your name or your email.

What RUNOVA does not do

• No analytics. There is no analytics SDK in the app of any kind.
• No advertising, no ad identifiers, no third-party trackers.
• Nothing is sold or rented to anybody, ever.
• No profile is built about you, and nothing about you is shared with other users.

Reminders are scheduled and shown by your phone itself. No notification service is told anything about you.

Who processes what we do keep

The account record described above is stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), acting on our instructions.

Emails we send, if you opted in, are sent through an email provider that receives your address for that purpose only.

We keep the account record while your account exists, and delete it when you ask.

Your rights

Write to runova.app@outlook.com and we will act on any of these:

• A copy of what we hold about you.
• Correction of anything wrong.
• Deletion of your account record.
• Withdrawal of your consent to marketing email, which you can also do from the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent for marketing email and on performing our contract with you for the account record, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

Children

RUNOVA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep any record for one. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date at the top changes and the app will say so before the change applies to you.
